HELI-SEP®
The
HELI-SEP® is a single vertical cylindrical vessel design that utilises
fluid velocity reduction, differential specific gravity and
coalescence's to separate nonsoluble oil, solids and entrained air from
oily water. Three different actions occur with in this one vessel to
provide the efficient removal or reduction of oil content to 15 PPM or
less at flow rates up to 44 gallon per minute. Oily water is pulled into
the HELI-SEP® by the integral pump. The water flows through a permanent
"honeycomb" matrix featuring a large amount of surface for the
oil to make contact with and coalesce. As the droplet increase in size
they detach from the surface of the matrix and float to the top of the
vessel. The water is then pulled through an oleophillic media where fine
oil droplet are captured and retained until the oil discharge cycle.
When sufficient oil accumulates the unit enters into an oil discharge
and backwash cycle. During this process the oil is flushed from the
media and discharged from the unit.
|
The
HELI-SEP® can be fitted with an oil content measuring device or
bilge alarm to monitor the amount of oil in the discharge from the
separator and initiate recirculation and prevent discharge when
above regulation or set point. The HELI-SEP® meets the
International Maritime Organisation MEPC.60 (33) regulation
relating to the discharge of bilge water from ships. The HELI-SEP®
has been approved by the U.S. Coast guard and other governments
and regulating agencies around the world. The bilge alarm is a
proven and effective monitor and alarm system that monitors a
sample stream of the water to be discharged; the water is exposed
to light as it passes through a fixed cell. |
 |
The
presence of oil that is above the legal limit of 15 PPM places the unit
into the alarm mode, notifying the operator and diverting the discharge
flow into a recirculation loop until the oil content falls below the
legal limit set point. The bilge alarm is furnished with recirculation
and overboard or discharge valves and is pre-wired to simplify and
reduce installation cost.

VG-SEP®
VG-SEP®is
a two-stage system designed to separate and remove non-soluble oils,
solids and entrained air at capacities through 2 gallons per minute. The
design of the VG-SEP® utilises system generated vacuum, differential
gravity, coalescence, and filtration to effectively reduce the oil
content to 15 PPM or less.
The
VG-SEP® is a self-contained compact system that requires minimal piping
or electrical connections to install. The first stage of the system
utilises vacuum to pull the oily water into the vessel, preventing
emulsification of the oil and water. In the first stage, the velocity of
the liquid is reduced, causing the oil droplets, which form to separate
from the water and rise to top for collection. Inside the first stage
the oleophillic (oil attractive) corrugated plate pack collects and
promotes the separation of the majority of oil. The water is then pumped
to the second stage where solids and oils that did not separate are
removed through a coalescing filter. The residual oil collects on the
surface of the filter and rises to the top of the second stage and is
then returned to the first stage for removal.

The
VG-SEP® System consists of the following components:

ULTRA-SEP®
The
ULTRA-SEP® is a two stage advanced oily water separation system
utilising vacuum, differential specific gravity, coalescence and
followed by ultra-filtration to separate and remove FREE and EMULSIFIED
oils to less than 5 PPM, along with solids and entrained air from oily
water. The ULTRA-SEP® systems offer capacities through 44 gallons per
minute. The innovative design of the ULTRA-SEP® eliminates the need for
flocculants, additives or disposable filter media to remove the oil.
Custom and larger flow rate units available.
Incoming
oily water passes through a basket strainer to remove oversized solid
contaminants. From there it enters a HELI-SEP® oily water separator,
here the majority of the oil is separated by vacuum, differential
gravity, change in velocities and the coalescing action of the permanent
matrix. Separated oil is removed at the top of the vessel and is
discharged during the cleaning cycle. During this cycle residual oil
accumulated within the polishing bead pack is flushed out and rises to
the top for collection and removal.
The
first stage pump pulls the water from the vessel and pushes it through a
primary bag filter and creates a positive suction pressure for the
membrane assembly feed pump. The water is then forced through
ultra-filtration membranes, proprietary SPIR-O-LATORS® or other
membranes depending on application. These specialised membranes remove
the emulsified oils and contaminants with molecular weights greater than
twenty thousand.
The
incoming water is split into two streams, permeate or clean water and
the concentrate or reject containing the oils and miscellaneous
contaminants. The permeate stream then passes through an oil content
monitor, which checks for the percent of oil present. If the content is
within the required settings, permeate is directed to the discharge for
disposal, discharge or re-use. If the percent of oil in the sample
stream is greater than the desired level it is directed back to the
first stage for reprocessing. The concentrate stream passes through the
de-oiler, which removes the rejected oil and sends it back through the
first stage for discharge during the cleaning cycle.

CRP-SEP®
The
CRP-SEP®is a single stage horizontal separator designed to efficiently
remove non-soluble oils, solids and entrained air from oily water at
flow rates through 440 gallons per minute. The design of the CRP-SEP®
eliminates the need for chemical flocculants and or additives. Each
model is engineered to provide the proper combination of retention time
and surface area for the flow rate and performance can be adjusted by
controlling the flow. Multiple internal chambers are fitted with
permanent oleophillic "honeycomb" matrix, providing a large
amount of surface area per square foot for the oil droplets to make
contact with and coalesce and float upwards to the oil collection area
provided within unit.
The
CRP-SEP® system can be configured to be gravity fed or have the oily
water pumped into the separator by system feed pumps. The oily water
flow is directed through our unique corrugated matrix packs where the
oil makes contact with the matrix and coalesces, as the droplet grow
they flow along the incline of the matrix and rise to the top of the
vessel. Once sufficient oil has collected at the top of the unit, the
oil probe assembly sends a signal that initiates the oil discharge
cycle, fresh water is pumped into the separator pushing the oil out the
discharge header. Once the oil is evacuated the unit, the probes sense
the lack of oil and signal the system to return to the normal operation
of oil separation.

RECYCLO-SEP®
|
The
RECYCLO-SEP® is a fully automatic wastewater recycler that
processes dirty water created by cleaning equipment into water
that is clean enough to be reused. The process flow rates are 6
GPM for the RECYCLO-SEP®Model 2000 and 12 GPM for the RECYCLO-SEP®
Model 2800.
The
RECYCLO-SEP® has been proven very effective in removing oils,
grit, and grime from water used in conjunction with pressure
washers, steam cleaners, or similar equipment. The system
maintains a proper pH balance so that the recycled water may be
safely reused. The RECYCLO-SEP® separator eliminates any
wastewater problems while reducing the waste to a semi-dry cake
making it more manageable for storage or disposal.
The
principal system components consist of four vertically skid
mounted tanks equipped with a feed pump, process pump, cartridge
filter, three metering pumps, and associated valves and controls.
The four processing tanks include the first stage tank, the
flocculate tank, in which the majority of oil and solids are
removed from the wastewater influent. The second stage, the
separator tank, in which the separation of residual oil and solids
remaining in the wastewater occurs. The third stage, the surge
tank, provides a supply of clarified water for operation of the
process pump. The fourth stage, storage tank, which stores the
clean processed water to be recycled to the pressure washer or
steam cleaner. |
